Framing begins

After removing the plastic and hay weather protection (it did get down to 29 degrees and there was a very small crack from water in the concrete), I burnished the broom finish on the concrete  so that it’s smoother and a bit more artsy (I used a concrete paver and literally hand-grinded the entire surface).

Don started framing by putting a “mud plate” or sill plate of pressure-treated 2″ x 6″ Douglas Fir onto the stem wall, drilling holes where the anchor bolts embedded in concrete need to protrude through the plate.

As they say, “Onwards and upwards!”
